I have a bizzar question. in the home i have 2 pcs and 3 laptops and highspeed internet. one highspeed internet is directly connected to the pc i beleive. the other pc is in the upstairs with internet signal receiving from trendnet 424 ub. the laptops are having no problems and all the devices are logging in to the allocated network. the upstairs pc (using the trendnet 424ub) started having this problem where it is fine unless it seems like the pc that is directly connected to the highspeed internet is being used, then the upstairs pc loses all the green bars. so to find out why, i notice that it is "scannin" status and frequency.

it just started happening recently. it is fine throughout the day until the evening when the downstairs pc is also being used thats when it does that

the current configuration is

support band i only check 11g
Wireless mode, i seleted infrastructure(thats the only one that allows it to work)
the adhoc band its locked in as "auto"
channel is locked in at "6"
power save is under "power save"
preabmle type is "short and long preamble"
auth mode is under "shared key"
encryption is undefr "wep-key"
wep key is under 128bits
defult key is under key 1
format is under hex

but these configuration had never been touched and changed

so if anyone can help that owuld be great.

i would use the laptop in the same room as the upstaris pc which is the one having the problem and i would have no problem.

Would it work to uninstall and reinstall. is there a need?

Maybe an IP conflict? Try switching both computers off, and on again.
