I've been searching the internet, but I've yet to find something that can help me. Therefore I'm posting this here.

I use 64bit Vista Ultimate.

Motherboard: Asus Rampage Formula X48
I use the onboard ethernet controller, Marvell Yukon PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller. There are two of these on the mobo, and they both wont work.

I have two routers, a D-Link 624 wireless router and a Tilgin Vood 452w with the wireless disabled by the ISP.
They are set up like this:
[Tilgin Vood 452w] ---Ethernet cable--> [D-Link 624] ---Ethernet Cable (10m)--> My PC.
The D-Link also provides the house with a wireless connection for all laptops and stationaries.

Everything worked fine and dandy, until I got a new router from my ISP. Previously I had the same setup, with a Zyxel Prestige 650 replacing the Tilgin Vood. I made the switch, simply replacing the router, and everything functioned properly on the other computers. Except mine. I tried the most basic of things, unplugging and plugging the router and ethernet cables, switching on and off the computer, and trying that useless Windows Vista "Diagnose and Repair" utility. Never really has worked for me.

I've also confirmed the functionality of the cable by testing it on other computers with wireless diabled, to ensure I'm getting connection via ethernet. I brought the computer upstairs, and this time used a shorter cable to make the connection.
Now it worked. I got a connection, although somewhat unstable. ( Would drop back to "local access only" every 10mins or so, just to pop back immediately)

I figured it was the new router, so I switched back. But it didn't work now either, with the long cable.

When I access the routers control panel from another computer, it shows my computer with the an IP-adress assigned, and a computername. I can't access bleep from my PC, can't ping anything but myself. It shows no IP-adress assigned.
The lights on the I/O panel used to glow green before. Now all it does is glow orange and yellow. Green is for 1gb connection, and orange for 100mb connection.

I've rolled back and installed new drivers for the ethernet controller, uninstalled my AV, and reinstalled Vista.

Here's an ipconfig /all log taken just now. Not in english, but I have no idea how to do that. It's similar enough anyway.

I'm afraid not. Nothing that I know of, atleast. But I can run it through google translate.

I'd really appriecate if someone could atleast point me to what could be wrong. If I can somehow confirm that its the ethernet controller on the motherboard, I can send it back and get a new one, I think.

Help is VERY much appreciated.

someone more knowledgeable than me correct me if I'm wrong, but I think if your have a hybrid node you have to have a wins server and that says no;
I think you need to change nodetype to broadcast, but I don't know how to do it.

Just tried this. It did not work. :thumbsup:

It is set to Hybrid by default. It also shouldn't have any impact on a proper set up LAN. I tried anyway, you have to add a registry key since the default is hybrid.

are you still having trouble? Are you sure the computer with the connection problem has tcp/ip set up to obtain automatically?
