Windows Vista Update Problem

For approximately 3 mos. I've been unable to receive any updates from windows. Every time I initiate a search I repeatedly get the same error message "Windows could not search for new updates error code 80080005 . If any one knows how to remedy this brain buster please fill me in.

First thing to check is if the time and date are set correctly in the BIOS
