I have some video files that I want to send to a friend, but they are way too large, is there a way that the other person can connect to my portable drive and download the files from mine?

Both pc's running XP.

Many thanks

Hello Activa,

You could create a VPN using https://secure.logmein.com/products/hamachi/vpn.asp?lang=en then they can connect to a shared drive and copy the files across.
Regards,

Alan.

Thanks Alan. Is there anything I could use that I don't have to buy?

No problem, glad to help.

Hamachi is freeware. There is a commercial version too.

You could also use http://xdrive.com/
Regards,

Alan.

Hey Activa!
Try Leaf app - it's a Hamachi competitor ;) . Here is more info on it http://www.download.com/Leaf/3000-2085_4-10618033.html
It is also free.

May be you should look at Windows Remote Assistant.
The Remote Assistance feature in Windows XP lets you share control of your computer with someone else over a network or the Internet.
