Uninstall Win Xp Sp3 Off Of My Computer

i want to uninstall sp3 from my computer because i want to reinstall win xp to my computer when i try to reinstall it it says what is newer is on comp is newer than what is on disk and sp3 is not in add or remove programs so i dont know what to do please help

Hi rolltide101, and welcome to BleepingComputer.

The following is taken from this Microsoft article.

1. Click Start, and then click Run.
2. Copy and then paste the following command in the Open box, and then press ENTER: appwiz.cpl
3. Click to select the Show Updates check box.
4. Click Windows XP Service Pack 3, and then click Remove.
5. Click Finish to restart the computer after the removal process is complete.

the problem is it is not in add or remove programs which appwiz.cpl takes u thanks for trying though can u think of anything else

When the Add or Remove Program page opens, does the box next to Show updates at the top of the page have a check mark in it?

did you install service pack 3
if you did not then remove updates that are related to service pack 3
this can be tedious.........................

i cant use system restore because of no restore points either i downloaded win xp pro vista vg i love it on my desktop but it sucks on my laptop u see sp3 was already on my it when i reinstalled windows to my laptop now i need to get it off

go to control panel
folder options
view tab show hidden folders

next go to my computer
right click on cdrive
windows and see if updates show there
right click then delete or uninstall

i found folder that says service pack file inside it there is i386 folder and service pack cache folder should i delete service pack file folder they all have something in them

control panel
folder options
view tab
put dot in show hidden folders
click ok to close

then open my computer
CDrive
windows
your hidden folders show
all your windows updates including service pack 3
