I used Trend Micro HouseCall6.6 a while back for a problem I was having, now when I try to uninstall it I get a message that says, "The HouseCall Client Uninstaller program cannot be started because of missing files." Then it says to proceed to the HouseCall homepage and run it to update your local instance. When I try to start the scan, my browser automatically closes. Does anyone know what might be causing this and how to fix? Thanks, -Marielle

Have you tried using an alternate browser like Firefox?

Download and install Firefox, then perform this online Virus scan:
Trend Micro Housecall Scan for Firefox <- Does not use ActiveX

I have Firefox also, and it does the same thing. I followed your directions and it still automatically closes.

Does this issue occur if you try any other online scanners?

BitDefender Online Scanner. <- Add a check by "Autoclean" and choose the option to "Quarantine".
F-Secure Online Scanner. <- Be sure to follow the directions on the F-Secure page for proper Installation. (Vista compatible)
ESET Nod32 Online Scanner <- Choose the option to Remove Threats and Scan unwanted applications. (Vista compatible but Internet Explorer must be Run as Administrator. To do this, right-click on the IE icon in the Start Menu and select "Run as administrator" from the context menu.)
