I reformatted my laptop and reinstalled Windows XP Business. It doens't recognize a wireless adapter and I cannot get online. I have a computer with a linksys router. My laptop used to pick up the signal. The error message is "failed to query TCP/IP Settings. I tried to ping my IP address and the message is "unreachable".

Did you reinstall the wireless adapter drivers?

That's a necessary step...sometimes Windows will install drivers automatically (if they exist in its driver inventory), but you cannot count on such.

Update Those Drivers - http://www.cyberwalker.net/columns/aug00/310800.html

Installing is much like updating.
