so, I'm trying to install HL2 on my new system. I get as far as the steam installation, then as it begins the game install, I get an error that says there is not enough free disk space to run steam. I have un-installed steam and re-installed from the website to ensure I have the latest version. I have even been able to access my steam account and my game is there from before, but will take forever to install from there based off of my connection. So i know steam is working. My hard drive isn't even half full and I have 2GB of RAM. I should have plenty of resources to run it. I just want to play the game. Any ideas?

How many hard drives do you have?

It may be installing on to another drive which has no space left.

How much space is your computer saying you have free?

I only have 1 hard-drive, no partitions. I have 134GB free.
