Hello Dylanz Of Dylanz,

Could you post the link to the site that has recommended this action.

Try going to start then run type dxdiag this will bring up the directx control panel.

You could try http://www.softpedia.com/get/Security/Secu...radicator.shtml then reinstalling. but backup first.
Regards,

Alan.

I'm curious as to why you want to uninstall DirectX. I believe it's considered a pretty basic Windows component.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DirectX

If you don't have DirextX installed, it should be available via the WinUpdate site.

---------------------------
DirectX Eradicator v2.0
---------------------------
This version of Windows is not supported. DirectX Eradicator will close.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

i tried going to dxdiag.exe it says directx version:not found
but on the directx tab theres still directx files there eg. ddraw.dll,d3d9.dll,ddrawex.dll and many others.
by the way....here is the website that recommended this action
http://www.instant-registry-fixes.org/how-...tall-directx-9/
scroll to the middle

as to hamluis.....
i am trying to reinstall my directx due to some problem....so i read in some website saying that delete the directx in regedit would make the directx back to 8.1 but after i did it it completely uninstalls my directx

I just went to the site and had a look at the instructions while they might generate some success, the instructions are dangerous to use. Direct X is incorporated heavily into windows and should not be tampered with.

You will probably have to do a repair install. The only other thing I can think of is to replace the registry keys that were deleted and see if they can repair the damage. I can export the files from a spare machine if you want to try, its completely up to you though.
Regards,

Alan.

Find the registry key(s) or folder and right click and select export. It will then create the registry keys you selected. If you want I can export the keys form a spare system and upload them.

Alan.

No problem, glad to help.

Could you post a link to the download site so others with the same problems can find it?
Do you still want the registry keys? There is not much point if directx has installed.
Try downloading the latest version to see if it all updates.
Regards,

Alan.
