backing up programs

Hi y'all
I would like to back up my installed programs to cd in order to do a clean re-install of xp, is this possible and how would I get them to run

This can't be done...you have to have the executable for each program. IF you have the executables, you can burn those to a disk...but otherwise you can't simply copy the program folder and then copy it onto your system once you have finished your clean install ..the programs won't work.

If you want to keep your programs, then do a repair install.
