I am booting up my laptop and getting the following error message

Acer.Empowering.Framework.launcher.exe - common language runtime debugging services

application has generated an exception that could not be handled

Process id=0xe70 (3696), thread id=0xeC8(3784)

click ok to terminate
click ok to debug

windows XP

Hope it's resolved by now because that program is the Acer menu for accessing your recovery program. A safe way to approach this is to do a complete clean recovery and then don't add any software for a day or two.
