Hello,

I have a used computer that everytime I start it up Windows attempts to install a program that is no longer there. The Windows Installer box comes up and never installs anything. Is there a program or a way to find the root cause of this program so that I can delete it?

Thanks for your time,

Hello nsxpilot,

Have you looked in the event viewer for errors and warnings that could give some idea what's causing this

Open Task Manager and click on the Applications tab and see if it shows what it is

You can also download Process Explorer to find it
Once you know what it is, you can run the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility to get rid of any leftovers
