I am currently running this processor;

2.4ghz Intel Penitum 4 HT 800mhz FSB. Socket 478

I just ordered a new one,its a;

3.0ghz Intel Penitum 4 HT 800mhz FSB,1mb L2 Cache(idk what the L2 on the other one is)

Mainly, i ordered it so that i can have the SSE3 feature for a program i need. But will i be seeing a major step up in preformance? Also will the stock Intel cooler that came with my 2.4 cool my 3.0?

It will probably be slightly faster, but don't expect to see a big difference. If you ordered a retail processor it should come with another heatsink, if not, the heatsink you have should work fine. Make sure to clean off the old thermal paste first and apply a very small amount of new.
