Alright, earlier this morning while drinking my coffee I bumped it with my hand and poured it on my laptop's keyboard. I had a cloth nearby so I dried it off quickly, and I thought it was fine 'cause everything seemed to be working. About 15 minutes after that my laptop began to sort of bleep at me, then shut its screen off. I turned it off with the power button, waited for a bit, then turned it back on. It began to slowly load up, but then the screen turned blue and it began running memory tests. I was alarmed but decided to wait for it to finish testing, unfortunately it was about 3AM and every 3 minutes it would bleep loudly and wouldn't stop until I hit the Mute button, so after about 45 minutes of it running tests, I pressed Esc to cancel the tests and just keep loading. Afterwards it loaded up fine and I logged in (I have Windows Vista Basic).

I went on MSN and every time I tried to type, a bunch of z's would start magically appearing, and I couldn't stop them. By the time they did stop, I attempted to type with the Z key, and no Z's would appear. And it would occasionally make more Z's appear. I've looked at the key and it doesn't LOOK stuck down but there might be something going on under there. And now my keyboard has short intervals where it doesn't type at all! I'd take the keyboard apart if it was for a normal computer, but I haven't a clue about laptops (it's a DELL by the way). I've also tried looking for screws that might take the keyboard out, but no such thing seems to exist on this thing.

Turn it upside down on a towel and leave it over night. I hope you drink your coffee black. What is the model number and I can link you to the instructions on how to take it apart

why won't my laptop work?

Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around

DELL Inspiron 1521. And luckily, I did do something right, 'cause leaving it upside down is what I did do, lol.
