 I I have xp pro sp2 and had gotten infected with smitfraud and my google browser got hijacked by yanga while on the internet.

I downloaded spybot and ran it .

I downloaded SmitFraudFix and it definitely helped (but not sure if it got it all).

I have Norton Antivirus and it didn't detect anything except for a tracking cookie, which it removed..

My computer is still not clean, as I still have YANGA in my search browser and junk when I I turn on the computer.

I ran hijackthis and would like to have it analyzed.

Thanks. :) :)

Hello ineedleu,

Welcome to Bleeping Computer

First you should know that you're actually doing more harm than good by running 2 Anti Virus programs. (Norton and McAfee) When you do this both programs compete for resources, and the end result is neither does it's best and can cause system instability. I recommend that you choose the one you want to keep, update it, disable or uninstall the other one, and use it as an on demand only scan occasionally.

Please run HijackThis! and click "Scan." Place checks next to the following entries, if present:

O2 - BHO: Yahoo! Toolbar Helper - {02478D38-C3F9-4efb-9B51-7695ECA05670} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7DB2D5A0-7241-4E79-B68D-6309F01C5231} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {B8301AF7-D00E-4EA4-87C1-5FF4644FBBA1} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {C68AE9C0-0909-4DDC-B661-C1AFB9F5AE53} - (no file)
O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {85BDD81D-31FD-4A6B-A73C-3955B128D2EC} - (no file)
O22 - SharedTaskScheduler: frizzed - {ecc974ae-6ede-44a2-90da-93b996d8eaf8} - (no file)

Close all browsers and other windows except for HijackThis!, and click "Fix checked".

Reboot your computer.

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from one of these places:
http://www.majorgeeks.com/Malwarebytes_Ant...ware_d5756.html
http://www.besttechie.net/tools/mbam-setup.exe

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

* Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
* The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)
* The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
* Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply along with a fresh HijackThis log.

Extra Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process,if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

How is it running now please? :)

Thanks,
tea
