Hi Anyone,

I've slip streamed SP 2 into XP a while back, have a CD with the final product on it and have used it successfully.

Now I'd like to add SP 3 to this. Can I slip stream SP 3 into this CD? If so, I take it that it's done the same way as slip streaming XP and SP 2 together? If not, then how?

Also, now that I'm thinking about it. Is it possible to make a bootable OS CD not only with SP 3 but with all the updates sense SP 3 came out on it?

Is this possible? If so, how would this be accomplished?

As always, all your help gives me a feeling of more independence.

Thanks and Happy 4th,

John

Many different options for it here: http://www.google.com/search?q=slipstream+...lient=firefox-a

FWIW - the other techs at work are recommending nLite for slipstreaming. They state that the problems that drove me away from it are fixed - and that it's a reliable and handy tool to use.

I've used nLite successfully for slipstreaming SP3 and SATA drivers for my own use, you can also add other updates and patches. I've had the CD's (burned from the iso nLite produces) fail verification on a very high block number, but they work fine, so I'm not sure whether it's a quirk of nLite, or my burning software.

OK, thanks for the advice I am using the nLight utility. It seems to work great and I have an ISO file. Now how do I burn it to disk?

I've downloaded what one source recommended but there seems to be no way to open it up?

It's made by Alix Feinman and is called ISO Recorder V3. Anyone know how to open this utility up?

Thanks,

John

Thanks for the Instructions,

It worked great, dah me didn't think of right clicking.

Plus I've already use the final CD to install XP once again but now I just need to find a way for Vista to let me access it.

Vista just doesn't seem to want to let me access any XP I put on here.

But, I guess that is another issue.

I do have Vista Boot Pro but it didn't help.

I checked out Microsoft's help pages and found something about cutting and pasting the boot.ini, NTDETECT and the NTLDR files from the XP instillation disk to a floppy for a bootable device.

I just figured that if that will boot why don't I just cut and paste them into the XP instillation already on my PC and guess what? I am having no problem booting into XP.

Ant that great! I am on the XP instillation right now and it's running lickidy split with excellent resolution.

No more ocean waves to oblivion.

I think that I finally am getting how to install a XP and Vista OS on the same PC.

I am having a great time. It should always be this easy!

Thanks for all the help and "I'll be back" I am sure.

John
