After my brother used a CD to reboot his computer something went wrong. when the reboot was done he tried to install the the DSL CD in to his computer but their was a problem he can't go online even when he installed it many time and he also says that he is missing some icon and one of the icon is Internet Explorer but he was able to keep the recycle bin and was also able to install Mozilla Firefox, so if anyone has any idea they may speck freely about to help my brother. Also I might change this when their is something new about the computer.

Your brother may need to go into the Control Panel and add the information for his connection for his ISP in the Internet Options. It may be worth calling his ISP and see if they can help him check his connection settings.

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.

<<After my brother used a CD to reboot his computer...>>

What kind of CD? Did he do a repair install of XP?

With network connections, the first thing I check is Device Manager, to ensure that the correct drivers are installed for the NIC.

If it reinstalled the O/S, there's a chance that the NIC driver was not reinstalled...or became corrupt during the reinstall attempt.

Did anyone check Device Manager for indications that the NIC is not properly set up?

Who provides your DSL?

Dell's also come with a Drivers CD - he'll need to install the drivers to regain his internet connectivity.
Here's an article that explains the order they should be installed in: http://support.dell.com/support/topics/glo...;l=en&s=gen
