I have a zv6000 laptop. Its over 3 years old now and usually I trade them in every 2 years but I did not this time. I am saving for something.

Anyways its specs are:

Amd 3200 64
768mb ram
100gb hard drive
15.4 widescreen with that brightview coating

I think its only worth like 400 bucks.

I have the hard drive full and its time to be wiped clean because the computer is and has been groggy for probably a year now.

The thing is I only have 768mb of ram and when I am just sitting there with firefox open I have less than 300mb free. Is that enough? Is that why its slow?

I thought about upgrading the ram to 1.5mb by buying another chip. But the chip will cost me like 40 bucks.

I wonder if I should wipe it clean and sell it for 400 and put some money into a newer used one or wait? Hp is rolling out with another updated series of laptops soon but they wont be "cheap" until like 3 months after that.

Is my laptop worth 40 bucks of upgrades?

I want a new laptop but I have software that wont work on Vista plus vista is just a PAIN to use. Features that were easy to find are now hard and good features like hibernate dont even work unless messed with otherwise it just goes to standbuy/hibernate I think they call it. I hate to have to pay 130 bucks for XP if I get a new laptop. I am short on cash because I am saving for...a:
