Well, not really a controversy. But still interesting topic. I'm hearing a lot of good things about the new SSDs coming out on laptops and ultraportable systems. Massively speedy, some rated at 30+ MBps. Maybe they'll even reach mp4 players soon and make everyone's life easier. But they're so darn expensive. Vote above if you would rather have RAID or SSD. And what price you would buy one at for 128GB.

The SSD drives are good but not great. They are basically a glorified flash drive with good read rates but not so good write rates. They cast a fortune at this time. I would say that RAID would be the best choice for now. The prices of traditional disks now are falling rapidly, can't remember where it was but I thought I saw a 1TB hard disk (traditional) for Cú100. I would pay up to the 300 mark for one but they are worth less that 100.
