Hello!

First off, thanks for the help on this. I really appreciate it.

I'm running Windows XP with Service Pack 2 (not sure if that helps you with the information). I've run a couple of programs in an attempt to remove the viruses, but nothing seems to get rid of them. Virtumonde.dll doesn't seem to go away. When I run SpyBot, it says that it detects a virtumonde, but when I select "fix problem," SpyBot inevitably freezes. I've repeated this process six times.

I then tried to do everything that was suggested here (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic18610.html) and nothing seemed to help there, either.

So, here's my log:

Hey, farbar!

Thanks so much for doing this; you have no idea how much I appreciate it. Take all the time you need; I understand you're probably extremely busy with other stuff.

Hi again,

I am sorry for the long delay.

Removal Instructions

  • Viewpoint Manager is considered as foistware instead of malware since it is installed without users approval but doesn't spy or do anything

"bad". This changed from what we know in 2006 read this article:

    http://www.clickz.com/news/article.php/3561546

I suggest you remove the program now. Click on start > run > and then paste the following into the "open" field: appwiz.cpl and

press OK. From within Add or Remove Programs uninstall the following if they exist: Viewpoint, Viewpoint Manager, Viewpoint

    Media Player
    .

  • Please download ComboFix.exe. Visit this webpage for download links, and instructions for running the tool and please follow the instruction to install

the Recovery Console before running the tool: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix

    • When the tool is finished, it will produce a report for you.
    • Please copy and paste the content of C:\ComboFix.txt to your reply.
    Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall

  • Deckard System Scanner has produced another log beside the one you have posted. Using Windows explorer please navigate to this folder C:\Deckard\System

Scanner\xxxxxxxxxxxxxx (x stands for date and time). Copy and paste the content of extra.txt

  • Please copy and paste to your reply:
    • The Combofix log.
    • The content of DSS extra.txt log.
    • A fresh Hijackthis log.
