A little more info would go a long way... what kind of mouse? USB (flat rectangular plug) or PS2 (round plug)?
What Operating System? When does it stop? Any specific moment?
Have you done any recent changes to the system? (Hardware or Software wise)

Are you still having trouble with the mouse?

If so, what type of mouse is it? Ball/Optical/Laser/wireless

Have you installed any software when you noticed the mouse stopped working?
Was the mouse damaged in any way when this problem started?

do you shock it? i've had that problem and the mouse icon just goes across the screen on its own. have you tried unplugging the usb cord and plugging it back in? that usually does it for me.

I didn't shock it and the unplugging and replugging trick doesn't work.

It's happening less often.
It's an Optical mouse.
I was just visiting some kind of site, then my mouse stopped, then after I restarted my computer, it was still not working. So only one mouse works, but the mouse still stops every once in a while.

Hi!

Have you tried using a different mouse? I'm tempted to think that maybe your mouse is faulty.

When you say 'didn't work', do you mean that you get the same problem with the same type of mouse?
