I'm trying to install some Windows updates but they just won't install. All it says is that some updates could not be installed and it lists the updates. Just for reference, the updates are:

Cumulative Security Update for ActiveX Killbits for Windows XP (KB950760)
Security Update for Windows XP with Windows Media Format Runtime 9.5 (KB923689)
Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework, Version 2.0 (KB928365)
Security Update for Windows XP (KB950762)
Security Update for Windows XP with Windows Media Format Runtime 9.5 and 11 (KB941569)
Update for Windows XP (KB942763)
Security Update for Windows XP (KB951698)
Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 7 for Windows XP (KB950759)
Security Update for Windows XP (KB951376)

Yes, this is a legit version and it is activated. I had no problem installing updates until a couple of weeks ago. Any suggestions?

Try this: http://wiki.lunarsoft.net/wiki/Dial-a-fix
Tick the following boxes:
Fix Windows Updates
Stop Services
Register WUAU DLLs
Start Services

Click Go

Goes without saying that you should ensure that you have recent backups or set system restore point, just in case, although this tool has never caused me any problems, just solved them

Duct tape is like the force. It has a light side, a dark side, and it holds the universe together
