Where's The Best Place To Put A Temperture Moniture's Temperture Probe On A Hard Drive?

Top? Side? Bottom? Above the IDE plug?
Where does it get the hottest. S.M.A.R.T says it's at 51C, but 5.25" bay temperture monitor says it's only at 34C. I have the probe right on top, below the Maxtor logo.

If the hdd is mounted horizontally as most are you have in this the right area, I would place the sensor right on the metal.

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.
