Please can anyone offer me advice and help with my PC. It has been running wierd of late...very slow and certain software programs wont open as all i get is a window with a blank white screen.
I have ran my anti virus and malware programs and nothing is coming up. I have tried to contact microsoft and McAfee for assistance but everytime i go onto there sites there windows for support wont open.
I have tried my own windows support centre on my Pc and this also wont open so out of sheer desperation i thought i would restore my system to another point before all this started but everytime i try to open the system restore program i again only get a window with a blank white screen.
My search function on all windows is also not working and no search boxes will open as all i get is a blank grey box. My Pc just wont respond to any attempt to gain assitance and im beginning to think something wrong is at work against me.
Does anyone know what is happening, because im going crazy!!!!!!!

Give us an example of programs that DO open and examples of those that will not.
What op system are you using and tell us a little about your computer.

Have you installed anything recently -hardware or software- like just before the problem began?

Can you use any browser (IE or Firefox or ?) to get online?
If so do a scan with Housecall at Trendmicro.

Hi Bewitching (great name btw),
Do your Malware programs include Ad-AwareSE and Spybot Search & Destroy? If not download them from the links in these tutorials:

After you dowload and update these programs, as well as udating your anti-virus program, run them all and let us know if the problem persists.

If you have already done all the above i would suggest you look at this tutorial and post an HJT log in the appropriate forum:

good luck
