Hi. Well, I just joined this forum a few days ago. I never really bothered to learn much about my computer; as long as it worked, I was happy. All I ever really used it for was internet browsing and word processing, and those are pretty simple functions.

And then, voila, I'm hit with some adware virus thingys. Which is why I joined this group. It seems like the biggest, best place to get help with my problems. Plus, it was the first thing to show up on a Google search.

So. Hi. I really hope you guys can help me, and that, one day, when I've actually learned something about computers, I can help other people too.

Here is a great tutorial to get you started:

Many people rely on computers as tools to accomplish certain purposes, and are so concentrated on those uses, that they do not learn about other areas in computing, much like a lumberjack becomming so interested in felling trees that he neglects to sharpen and oil his saw.
Computer security is not an obscure subject, nor is keeping your computer safe if you take the time to garner a little knowledge, which is what BC can provide, both in its tutorials and in its forums.
