for some strange reason the web links in my email client and IM programs don't work anymore. an example would be if a friend sent me a web address via IM. i would normally click on the link and IE would take me strait to it. now i get nothing when i click on a link in IM or my email client (mozilla thunderbird). i did just however install a new AV program - eset nod32 anti-virus. i'm not sure if that's the problem or not. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like your new AV program, which one is it? You may want to check the options on the program and make sure it allows links..

i checked my anti virus program and even disabled it. as far as i can tell it is not conflicting with my email client and IM programs. i also uninstalled and reinstalled the programs i'm having trouble with and that didn't help anything. any ideas?

yeah, Thunderbird enabled to accept HTML. i think it may have something to do with a *.dll file. i got a windows pop-up box after i rebooted a couple of days ago. unable to load ???.dll file. prior to the reboot i installed the eset nod 32 AV program (www.eset.com) it found 12 files most of wich were associated with Win32/Adware.Virtumonde application. i think the pop-up may have been just one of those BAD *.dll files trying to load. after this the problems began.
