No Sound When Playing Dvds

I am posting this again in hopes that someone might reply

I am having a problem with sound on my DVD drive. The picture plays but there is no sound with any DVD's. When I insert a music CD into the same drive the sound works. Anyone have any ideas what this could be? I am using windows XP.
