I have this file named 1.exe in the root directory of my HD. If I delete it it comes back. When windows first starts it launches what looks like a dos bo and then an error message that says something like error executing 1.exe then "ignore" or "close" nothing happens if I click ignore....when I click close the message goes away.
I have researched it (1.exe) and it might be a virus, but I have my firewall and all that jazz, and updated AVG but it is never detected.
Anybody have any ideas how I can get rid of it?

My suggestion would be to post at BleepingComputer.com - Am I infected What do I do - http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/f/103/am-i-infected-what-do-i-do/ and get some knowledgeable assistance from folks who deal with such routinely.
