I tried to restore my computer last nite to an eariler time a few weeks back, but, after a restart, it comes up and says something like: Unable to restore your computer to that date, please try a different restore date.
I tried that and again it did the same thing. As far as I can tell, it won't restore. I went into control panel and looked to make sure it wasn't turned off. It wasn't.
Can anyone help in getting my restore to work? Thanks for your help in solving this problem. John

There are some general troubleshooting steps for System Restore here.

A very useful website for System Restore: http://bertk.mvps.org/
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.

If you're saying you actually tried to go back to a point that is weeks old, that might be the problem itself. You've probably made too many changes in your system since that time for restore to work properly, or something has corrupted those restore points and SR can't use them anymore. System Restore itself appears to be working. It sounds to me as if you're trying to go back too far.

What problem were you trying to fix by going back that far?
