I'm having a problem with my computer staying connecting to the Internet. I use dial-up because there is no broadband in my area. This is what happens: I'll be surfing the net as usual or downloading something and all of a sudden my computer starts revving up really loud. It sounds like a fan spinning really fast. Then my Internet freezes up but it says I'm still connected. I have to then manually disconnect from the Internet and wait for the loud noise to shut up, before I reconnect. The computer then runs fine for another 7 minutes or more if I'm lucky before the annoying process starts over.
What could be happening happening?
