So am I !!

I would like to find out what's going on with EGold,

I'll try to explain without getting to far into my personal business, . . however my first question would be,
I have subscribed to an internet service, they utilize an EGOLD service, . . .

Is EGOLD a general term or a Trademark ?

I'll try to explain why I am asking this as this thread unfolds.

OK, Thats what I'm getting at, No one knows very much about it,

The EGOLD I am dealing with seem to make it virtually impossible to subscribe to it, and I am beginning to think,
that they are doing this on purpose, . . so that I am stuck with one of the services attached to EGOLD, where I will need to spend more money !

This service will only except EGOLD payments, with the exception of one other very confusing service.

So, if anyone really knows anything about this, then we can move forward.

E-Gold sounds like a Pay-Pal that deals with gold and silver for payments.

From Cnet:

Online payment system E-Gold and its parent company have emerged as a preferred service for fraudsters and child pornography vendors, violating a handful of federal and local laws in the process, a new grand jury indictment alleges.

They don't sound like to ethical a bunch. Google them for more info.

You were going to pay for him/her?? Hmm.. lol.. bad thoughts on my end.

I would do alot of research on EGold and make you're own decision about it. If you dont feel comfortable with it, then, you've lost a bit of money, but your not going to loose anymore.........

After reading your second post again, I understand what you're talking about now.... (methinks)

There are many more places like that which dont require Eglod

Yes, I know there are many more places, I was at one of them and someone cam along and introduced me to the site in question, they are, I believe Russian sponsored, and have Asian and Russian, "Pen Pals" , but I thought the best of it all,
until I could not get an E_M address, etc. I am no longer thinking the best, but I have not given up all hope. BTW, The relationshipis or was in the, "old school", terms, normal< "heterosexual, I am a male she, hopefully was or is a female!

Yes, it is in someways I guess more assurance that they will be hassle free of anyone who pays, since they are giving the responsibilty of the currency transaction to someone else, I think its sort of an International FDICA, but I can't get it to work since they ask you to use one of their sponsors, I have had no luck !!

I would very much like to find someone who knows how to do this because it is requires for membership, this entitles you to so many communications for free, other than that you pay per word etc.

Some interesting reading.

Non-reversible transactions

Unlike credit cards, there is no way of having transactions reversed, even in case of a legitimate error or an unauthorized expenditure. e-gold's Terms of Use stipulate that all transactions are final and e-gold cannot be held responsible for any spend. In this respect, an e-gold spend is more akin to a cash transaction (except for the fact that there is a fee levied) while PayPal transfers, for example, could be considered more similar to credit card transactions.

Not good in my humble opinion.

Security

As with any online payment system, e-gold is vulnerable to various threats, notably phishing (for example, forged emails asking for login details) and malware (such as keystroke logging spyware).

e-gold offers no protection whatsoever if an attacker succeeds in obtaining:
the user's e-gold account number
the user's e-gold password
access to the user's registered email account (web-based email accounts without a secure login are especially vulnerable) as the e-gold account will then be completely open for malicious use.

And their response would be a canned reply stating:

"Unfortunately we will not be able to refund your money because all e-gold spends are final and not reversible as stated in the e-gold account user agreement. e-gold is also contractually prohibited from freezing e-gold accounts or releasing e-gold account information in the absence of a court order or subpoena. You might want to consider obtaining some combination of help from a legal professional or law enforcement to obtain a court order, if the size of your loss warrants expenditure of your resources (time and money) to resolve."

HUH?? Wha?? :flowers: I've lost money already and you're telling me. I need to figure out if it's worth spending more of my money to pursue the loss you can't help me with??? NICE!!! that gives me warm fuzzies that you have my best interests at heart while you 'hold' my money.....

Yeah, it sounds like is it "Gold" only for the site and E-Gold Corporation owners.

I'm not sure I understand about fraud, in my case I just want to make a payment using E-gold because the service I am

persueing requires it, I just want to pay a fee using e-gold but I am not able to understand how that is done,, I wanted to make an attempt at finding someone who has accomplished this.

About the fraud, if I make a payment for the amopunt required and I don't have an e-gold account other than that particular (executed) transaction than there are no funds for someone to steal, . . correct ?
