Hello everyone,

I'm thinking about selling my HP laptop and buying a smaller one but I am unsure about how much I should ask for it. If you could give me a price range that would be great.

*Side note- When I bought the laptop from Fry's, I also purchased a 5-year unconditional warranty. Fry's allows me to transfer titles of this warranty so the person buying this laptop would still have 3 years of full protection. (Pretty much all repairs are free and if the problem continues to arise they will credit you with the value of the laptop to buy a new one/other stuff)*

Advertise it. Current market value will show in your area.

I doubt you will get more than $600 USD in the USA with all the custom builds today here.
The only easy day was yesterday.

It would be somewhat helpful to know how much you paid for it 2 years ago.

I see more powerful laptops with 3G of RAM being advertised for $699 to $899, so I'd be surprised if you got near $600 for it.

Sorry.

I know you think you understand what you thought I said,
but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant!

Thanks both of you for the replies. When I bought it, its market value was around $1650.

I wasn't expecting much, but at least I can get something for it =]

I would imagine 300 which roughly translates into $600 would be a fair price, the RAM and the graphics would be my main concern. I would upgrade the RAM, it may increase the price slightly.
Regards,

Alan.

I just said more because of the warranty. Oh well. I have seen many of these for like 600 though on the craigslist. I actually want one but I am not ready to pay for a new one yet.

Thanks for all the comments guys! Really appreciate it!

I think I might start off at $700 and work my way down to $600 to see how much I can get for it.
