Hi,

Question about my ASUS M2A-VM motherboard:

The motherboard's manual says it has "High Definition Audio"..how do i take advantage of that (eg. use on my home theatre system)? I believe i need some kind of add-in card?

It also should be able to support HDMI output. However, as my MB isn't the "M2A-VM HDMI" edition, it doesn't come packaged w/ the addon card. I haven't been able to find that addon card anywhere.

So in the end..my question is, how can i take advantage of the HD? If i need the card, where can i get it?

Thanks !

It's built into the board already. You might have to enable something in the BIOS Read the BIOS setup section of the manual

That would be with your choice of video card

Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around

So that means the motherboard's on-board audio is also HD ready?
It only has the "regular" audio outputs though..I'm guessing there's some kind of HD sound system that can just plug in the regular, standard audio jacks, and i would get HD sound?

That would be with your choice of video card
Example

So if i buy a card like that, and plug it into a HD monitor, I should get HD pic quality, correct?
And if i add a Blu-Ray player to my computer, i can view HD movies as well?

Thanks again.
