Windows Xp Boot

Hiya all new to forum , i want to reisntall my windows xp home edition as want to start a fresh however my Sony Vaio pc didnt come with a boot disc i bought the pc from Pc world, i have read somewhere that you can boot you windows from your harddrive if you didnt get a boot disc is this true? if so how do i do this?

If your Sony VIAO didn't come with recovery disks, then there may be a recovery partition on the hard drive. We'll need the exact make and model of the PC in order to verify this.

Also, you can usually get recovery disks cheaply or for free from Sony with just a phone call.
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.

Where did you purchase the computer from? I searched Sony's USA and UK site but that model doesn't show. Are you sure it's correct?

Hiya when i went on Vaio site it said put in product code and serial number then it told me my model was PCV-RS402 instead?
