i backed up my data using files and settings transfer wizard before i replaced my corrupt hard drive with the new one dell sent me. everything went to my external hard drive, and the files compressed fine and everything. now i cant get them to extract using the wizard. i have tired everything with the wizard and it says that the directory doesn't have the files at all. the folder "USMT2.UNC" wont do anything. they are .dat files. can someone help me figure out how to extract my files? i have taken them off the external and tried doing it from my desktop as well. i keep hearing about a tool called FASTconv but I dont know how to use it. any help would be appreciated!

I don't know how to use it, but I believe it's a command line utility. You'll have to open up a command prompt and then run it from there.

Go to Start...Run...and type in "cmd.exe" (without the quotes) and press Enter.
In the black window that opens, type the name of the executable (fastconv.exe) and press Enter
You may also be able to type "fastconv.exe /help" or "fastconv.exe /?" to get some more info on how to use it.
