To start, I have an HP laptop running on Windows XP. My desktop image was changed to a warning that reads Warning! Spyware Detected on Your Computer! Install an antivirus or spyware remover to clean your computer. I cannot change this in the desktop properties and my ability to access my task manager has been disabled. And when I open folders they only stay open for about 15 minutes before the entire screen is cleared and my desktop warning stays visible for about a minute and then everything returns to pretty much normal with the exception that my folders are closed, task manager is still disabled and that annoying background is still there. Please help, this is very frustrating and I feel like an idiot.
Thank you in advance,
Update- Something just happened and a spyware popup came from my windows toolbar (the one at the bottom of the screen) it said that worm.win32.netbooster was detected and I should get spyware protection. then my desktop image changed to a biohazard sign saying that my protection was in danger and now folders are popping up on my computer. this is actually kind of scary
Update - I am now getting a message that says the system administrator disabled the display control panel
