Like the topic states, once my computer automatically goes into hibernate mode (after a period of non-use), the speakers won't play when I get back onto the computer and Windows comes back up. The only way I can get them to function again is to restart the computer. :flowers:

Is there a setting that I don't know about? :trumpet:

Please help!!

EDIT: I am using XP SP2

Sorry  But that shouldn't happen... try posting again in the Audio, Video, and Graphics section near the bottom half of the forum.
I've been Googling in my spare time and I actually found a similar topic on the forums in the audio section about hibernation and speaker problems. I don't think that one has been resolved yet, so I'm still trying ;)
"If a man is offered a fact which goes against his instincts, he will scrutinize it closely, and unless the evidence is overwhelming, he will refuse to believe it. If, on the other hand, he is offered something which affords a reason for acting in accordance to his instincts, he will accept it even on the slightest evidence. The origin of myths is explained in this way." - Bertrand Russell

Most common problems with hibernation resolve when you uninstall your video drivers, then update them with a freshly downloaded copy from the manufacturer of your video chipset.

I'd also have a go at the same thing with the audio drivers - uninstall, then update them with a freshly downloaded copy from the manufacturer of your audio chipset.

How do I find out who the manufacturer of my audio chipset is?

Yep, it showed three "hotfixes" available. Thank god, that problem was thoroughly frustrating.
