Print out these instructions and then close all windows including Internet Explorer.

Then I want you to fix some of those entries. Please do the following:

Please make sure that you can view all hidden files. Instructions on how to do this can be found here:

How to see hidden files in Windows

Run Hijackthis again, click scan, and Put a checkmark next to each of these. Then click the Fix button:

Hi Grinler,

Followed instructions from your last correspondence and the performance has improved somewhat. These two items below were not deleted. Another problem is with spybot s&d. When scaning new.net will appear but cannot be fixed.
Ad-Aware SE will not run completely in full scan mode. It stops at 162,000 objects showing 415 new critical objects. I cannot get a scan log file because of the incomplete scan. Can you help me in this area. Thanks

Try running spybot in safe mode and see if it can make it through the scan.

Also why are you trying to delete these?

C:\WINDOWS\System32\nvsvc32.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\tcpsvcs.exe

C:\WINDOWS\System32\nvsvc32.exe is part of your nvidia driver.

Click on start, then run, and type services.msc and press enter. Then scroll down to simple tcp services and disable shut it down. Is tcpsvcs.exe showing anymore?

Grinler Hello

I followed your instructions again and the"C:\WINDOWS\System32\tcpsvcs.exe" is no longer there. I mistaken one of your previous post regarding deleting the below entries with the entry mentioned in our last reply. Please disregard!

C:\WINDOWS\system32\nsvsvc\
C:\WINDOWS\system32\picsvr\

C:\WINDOWS\System32\nvsvc32.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\tcpsvcs.exe

Ran SpyBot in safe mode with the same results New.Net still appears and unable to fix. SpyBot Log below.

Error during check!: Zwax (Ungültiger Datentyp für '') ()

Click on start, run and then type regedit and press the ok button.

Now navigate to HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-18\Software\new.net and right click on new.net and delete it.g

Then navigate to this key and delete new.net

HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\new.net

After that run spybot and it should be all clean. Nothing else bad in the log.

Log looks clean...great job!

Disable and Enable System Restore. - If you are using Windows ME or XP then you should disable and reenable system restore to make sure there are no infected files found in a restore point.

You can find instructions on how to enable and reenable system restore here:

Managing Windows Millenium System Restore

or

Windows XP System Restore Guide

Renable system restore with instructions from tutorial above

Next,

This process will clean out your Temp files and your Temporary Internet Files. Please do both steps:

Step 1:Delete Temp Files
To clean out your temp files, click on Start and then run, and type %temp% and press the ok button.

This should open up the temp directory that your machine uses. Please delete all files that are found there. If you get an error when deleting a file, skip that file and delete all the others. If you had trouble deleting a file, reboot into Safe Mode and follow this step again. You should now be able to delete all the files.

Step 2: Delete Temporary Internet Files
Now I want you to open up Internet Explorer, and click on the Tools menu and then Internet Options. At the General tab, which should be the first tab you are currently on, click on the Delete Files button and put a checkmark in Delete offline content. Then press the OK button. This may take quite a while, so do not be alarmed with how long it takes. When it is done, your Temporary Internet Files will now be deleted.

Finally, and definitely the MOST IMPORTANT step, click on the following tutorial and follow each step listed there:

Simple and easy ways to keep your computer safe and secure on the Internet

Glad I was able to help.

Grinler, Thanks a lot. I appreciate all the time and effort that went into my problems. My machine is working great. After following your instructions New.Net is no longer on my computer. I've also accomplished all the steps you outlined to make my computer safe and secure in the future. I should be good to go. Again, thanks.
