Hi everyone, the names Cosmo. I've been looking at bleeping computer for as long as i can remember whenever i needed some advice so i figured i might as well join the discussion and help out when i can.

Now for introductions. I'm fast approaching my 18th birthday, i'm a highschool dropout who always thought that ditching classes to go fix the computers in the lab made perfect sense, and an employee of the Federal Government doing IT support and implementation at the national park that celebrates the worlds largest hole in the ground(one guess as to which park im talking about). I'm a long time lurker of the forums for all my computer needs but my job is actully the reason why i'm finally joining the forums.

To put it simply IT at the park is disorganized, the entire park has 7(soon to be 8) IT employees, and there isint really a manual or anything else to just read and understand. Everything is learning by doing and asking the other people, and i love it that way. the downside is that every time we run into a new large scale(or small scale but really odd)problem it takes all of our combined brainpower to figure it out.

Alot of the software i use i haven't seen or used before and many of my questions will be related to either Lotus Notes(and lotus Domino servers) or Track-IT!(possibly replaced by footprints soon). Of course there will be questions for everything so ill probably be on here daily asking for some form of help.

I know its a long introduction but i just wanted to put it all out there.

Happy computing everyone.

Somewhere around Grand Canyon, I bet.
I would seriously urge your team to consider creating some system documentation, and having a orderly, documented process for problem resolution (there are open-source applications for bug-tracking that you could use within your department).
