Hi my name is Anthony & i'm a newbie to bleepingcomputers, my Fiancée has a dell laptop with Vista, the problem is when she wants to transfer documents from a flash drive to her laptop vista will not show a drive in my computer, bu t if I go to device manager the flash drive is there. If however if she has photo's on the flash drive she can get them on to her laptop. I have tried plugging the flash drive in when online in the hope that would help to sort things out
Can someone help? I have XP myself, which is fantastic. Vista is very slow and bulky which is why I'll never upgrade to it.

That may be more a product of hardware than anything. I have Vista on two of my systems, and it works just great.

Does the drive show up in Windows explorer? Have the settings been altered on Vista so as to not auto-mount removable storage? When the device is plugged in, does a dialog box pop up asking what action to take? If not, then a setting may need to be changed is all.
