Hello again,
I have EarthLink DSL with a Zyxel p660r-elink modem bridged to a Linksys wrt54g [pppoe] wireless router.

Both my desk/laptop are running XP pro [sp2] the desktop is on port 1 and the laptop is wireless.

I have the 54g flashed with dd-wrt and a couple of days ago I flashed another upgrade [from rc5 to rc7]

The new firmware [rc7] has a 'Filter Multicast' option built into the SPI Firewall, where the last [rc5] did not.

I always keep a pretty close eye on my traffic logs and have never noticed any Multicast traffic, that is, until I acquired this new firmware with the option to block it.

Now, when I uncheck the 'Filter', I all of a sudden log traffic from my gateway to 224.0.0.1

I understand that this is not too out of the ordinary (I mean I think I do - I read the mind-numbing Wiki, but it was well over my head) - but don't understand why it would occur now suddenly.

I hope I've provided enough info, and any clarification would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
I
