Print Spooler (dell2400)

I tried to install a hp printer on my niece's computer and after about 30 secs or so print spooler shuts down.I tried starting it from services and RPC is running.Should I start disabling software to see if anythings conflicting?Would a fresh install of sp3 fix this?Has anyone ever dealt with this?Thanks for any ideas on this :thumbsup:

Have you tried uninstalling the printer...then reinstalling the printer?

I'll try that the next time I has a go at this.I must uninstall the printer correctly first.I'm not sure if HP got a removal tool like Lexmark has.There was a Dell and Lexmark hooked up to this before I tried to install the HP.Dell and Lexmark is the same printers so the Lexmark removal tool should have taken care of those previous printers.(Did I guess right by thinking that) :thumbsup:

Hmmm...I used to use Lexmark printers for several years...my experience was that Lexmark would tend to leave a service running that might create problems during future use.

I believe it was Lexbce...you might take a look in your services and see if it's there.
