Thanks garmanma, I have another post here http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/146926/error-id/. Ever since I installed sp3 I have had problems. At first continuous reboots,Did system recovery. Then reinstalled sp3,( I didn't realize that sp3 was causing problems with amd.) Now my monitor screen is different. There is a 3/4" black stripe around sides and top of all screens. Right after system recovery it was 1.5". And device manager was showing a !(yellow)s3 graphics pro savage ddr. I updated driver and it improved problem (black strip reduced in size.) But the strip is still there and it bothers me. I also can not minimize my browser (firefox)Thanks Joe

Yes it is as easy as going to add remove programs to uninstall.
Uninstallation of SP3 went off without a hitch when I did it.

I've heard about the problem with AMD and factory computers, but I haven't read up on it yet. I think the best bet would be to go to AMD's site (they have a forum section) and your computer manufacturer's site to see if they have addressed the problem yet

See the thread "Windows Xp Service Pack 3 (sp3) Information". I included links about the issues with HP/Compaq with an AMD processors.

when you go to add/remove programs, remember to tick the box that says "show updates"
