I got a bit annoyed earlier, and punched a wall (lol?)

And my two middle knuckles are all swollen, making a fist hurts, as does squeezing the knuckle..

Its happen many times before, on the same knuckles in my martial arts training, but the docs at A+E says its nothing wrong, but any slight contact with them, even when they're not as swollen.. (hasnt gone down fully in 3 years) and they burst back up like a balloon..

Any ideas?

I am no Doc, but you remind me of a Kiswahili saying:

'Mpiga ngumi ukutani huumiza mkonowe' (He who strikes the wall with his fist hurts his own hand)

Self help - use at your own risk.

For after the punch - Ice pack wrapped in a towel so you don't get burn. You can try to splint it with something to keep your hand/fingers straight - minimizing use to let the muscles/tendons/ligaments heal. Accompany with some type of analgesic for pain.

The only way to know about damage to your hand is x-rays and mri. If you aren't satisfied with your doc, ask to be referred to an orthopedist. That is the best bet.

Good luck

I understand... Just remember, you need that hand for the rest of your life....

I know, it's the dad medic coming out in me.

Good luck and kick butt!

Hoping all heals well, but as a sensei . Do you not feel that you are not applying your training properly if you can just let out on an object. Would you not be in control at that moment. You need to consider this seriously for your own benefit. You would be doing one armed pushups right now in my dojo.

Things I've found out from slamming fist into wall:

1. It hurts

2. You have to apologize to people, some you may not even know (Some may be wearing uniforms and badges)

3. You have to pay to fix the hole, or do it yourself. Costing time and money

4. Did I mention, it hurts

:flowers:

Hehe garmanma, It was at home, and I am not strong/have right technique to put a hole in a concrete wall.. although did do it with the back of my head randomly one day hehe..

boopme, I am not good at controling my anger, my sensei has told me several times, that if I could control it, I would be a much better fighter in competitions.

But I prefer kata to fighting

The Koan borrowed a saying or two from others...

"Stupid is as stupid does..... "(Forest Gump's Mom)

"some will, some won't; some do, some don't" (WR)

We all fit into one of the two above. You pick your slot.
