Disk Drive Problem

Hi,

My floppy disk drive not working suddenly, when i insert a floppy, it keep asking for format the disk, if i press format, it telling that disk cannot be format, may i know what happen to the drive?

another thing is my cd drive cannot work at all, it show "please insert cd" everytime. I have try different cd, cd-rom & dvd but it not work at all.

If the floppy isn't formatted you will need to do this. There is a small square slide on the rear of the floppy, this will prevent the floppy from being overwritten if it is in the closed position. Try sliding to the other side of the space.

As for the CD drive, check in the device manager (Start> right click on My Computer> Manage> Device Manager.) to see if there are any errors in the DVD/CD-ROM. You may need to click on the box at the very top with the + in it to extend the tree to see the list of devices. Errors will appear in red, and warning will appear in yellow. You might try uninstalling the drive in the Device Manager and restart the computer. The installation wizard will recognize it as new hardware and will search for the proper drivers for it. Did you CD drive come with a disc with drivers on it?

Thank you for your help, maybe my hardware down, because now i cannot on system at all.....
