Hello Everyone!!

I own an inspiron Laptop from Dell and i recently had a problme with it where it wouldnt turn on!!, so i asked the guys in my IT department at work to have a look at it, in the end tehy had to use a cd to turn it back to factory settings, so all of my pics / music etc was all lost :flowers: :trumpet:

I have since then been using it fine, but the other day i tried to play music on it and the vulume control is completely gone!!

it just keeps telling me that i dont ahve this programme??!!??

does anyone have any advice for me as to how t fix this problem??

Probably need new sound drivers. What is the model number of the Inspiron? We can give you a link to download it

You will need to download and install this driver package, using Device Manager.

Update Drivers In XP ~ Windows Fanatics - http://www.lockergnome.com/windows/2005/12...-drivers-in-xp/

It is now asking me for set up details, think i will have to re load my set up cd that i got with it.....


.........hmmmmmmm now to find my set up cd :thumbsup:

If i cant find this, does anyone know where i could find a new one??

I believe that Dell should be able to provide those, if your system had such.

Were you actually issued a CD/DVD of any sort with your system?

Hi Louis

Im pretty sure i got a start up CD with my laptop which just ran through all of the basics!!

When i go to that link it helps me make a back up cd, will that restore my volume?? :thumbsup:

my volume works again...

in the end i resorted to calling Dell......

but i have volume again!!
