Hello, I have some VHS tapes that I've had copied to DVD. Can anyone suggest software for improving image quality (noise, could be sharper). Thanks.

you could try one of these programs listed here http://forums.vnunet.com/thread.jspa?threadID=104075 one might work. Hear a lot of people use DVDFlick I didn't like it. Really this is just a shot in the dark, but you lose quality when you turn a dvd (.vob) file into an .avi so maybe the reverse is true? anyway those are free so might be worth a shot.

Virtual Dub is free and has some filters that can be applied to an AVI. Including;

Blur
Blur More
Brightness/Contrast
Deinterlace
Emboss
Sharpen

Just to name a few.
