I have a Dell computer and run WIndows ME. Have had some problems since my USB ATI TV tuner "died" on me a few days ago. Couldn't reboot until I unplugged it. My adobe 2.0 wouldn't load all the way; I tired to reinstall my origianl scanner (HP Jetscan 3200C which came with CD software that included adobe 2.0) to try to get Adobe 2.0 back) but I couldn't get it to reinstall. The scanner I am currently using, Visioneer 4400 wont reinstall now either. I tried to do what a tech on Visioneer website suggested but that isn't working also. I can play a DVD in my D drive but cant seem to upload any programs on it. I have another working ATI TV Tuner coming in a few days with the software and am afraid it might not install properly. My computer was freezing up a lot on simple things like system configurationg and other applications where it never did before. I ran housecall, spybot search and destroy, adaware se to get rid of any spyware that might be the problem. Even my system restore wasdn't working properly. Any help getting my computer back to operating normally would be greatly appreciated. Here is my highjack this log:

Hi soundtrakz and welcome to the BC forums. After reviewing your log I see no signs of viruses or malware. Your log is clean. You may be experiencing problems related to your failed hardware corrupting your operating system. Or your hardware failing might be indicative of more serious oncoming problems.

You might try doing a repair install of your operating system and see if that helps. This can be accomplished by navigating to c:\windows\options\cabs and running the setup.exe file. This will validate all of the OS system files and settings. After doing that make sure that you go to the Windows Update site and apply all of the Critical Updates that are available.

If you continue to have problems then I would suggest that the problems are more hardware related since all of the problems you currently seem to be having are hardware related.

Cheers.
