External Hdd Won't Spin Up

Seagate External HDD won't spin up. Power light comes on, but nothing else. Windows doesn't recognise the disk any more.
I don't have the HDD here right now, but will check to see if anything is recognised in device manager.

Suggested fixes\tests anyone?

IMO, the weak link in external drives is the case, not the drive.

I'd open the case, remove the drive...attach it directly to motherboard for comparison.

Seatools couldn't do anything, so the drive got sent back and replaced under warranty (luckily)
