Hi everyone;

I have an Acer 5520-5290 notebook which has athlon processor ,and vista OS with 1Gb ram. I wanted to change the harddrive I have,and replace witha new one. 80 Gb to 120Gb.

I purchased a Samsung HM121 HI.After replacing it, There was a message like that: `Media Failure,,` on the screen. I have no idea how to install the part?

Thanks for any help...

Sounds like it's not connected properly. That's the most common answer for that error. When you slide it in the slot, make sure it's a solid connection and put the screws back in the case.
I have to ask, you did buy the proper drive, correct? IDE or SATA

Hi degetloo, and welcome to BleepingComputer.

You have the correct hdd for that notebook. Did you remove the cage from the old hdd and install it on the new hdd? If you have any questions regarding the installation of the new hdd this tutorial is comprehensive and includes photos.
